A Wonderful Valentines Day

What can I say...I love surprises and boy did I get a bunch of them this Valentines Day!! First off I wasn't expecting anything until the of Valentines, but my husband sure can surprise me!He sent me these beautiful roses and then later that afternoon he informed me that he got job as a professional firefighter/emt!!!! I was sooo excited and of course I couldn't jump and down and carry on because I was in my office. I was just so proud of him, he has worked for this for so long and been so patient with the process. And on Valentines we put the celebration on overload and went to dinner with friends...it was just an awesome day!!

The Hubby Can Too...

There might be some of you gals out there that still believe that the little woman is suppose to take care of the big strong man.....example...do his laundry, pick up after every little thing, cook him dinner..so on and so on. Me....I was raised that if you have 2 capable hands you can do it too!! My mother is always joking with Brad that he can do anything I can as far as household duties. Well now there is proof......

We got home from the store the other day and he totally sat down in the floor and pulled out all the expired products and reorganized the entire fridge. And the final product.....

My Little House...thoughts??

Well it is that time of year again where I get a little restless in home, like I'm sure most women do! And I have started to drive my husband crazy of all the little thoughts that I have in my head. Don't get me wrong I love my house...we have owned for almost 4 years now, but for some reason I feel like it is not homey enough. Does anyone ever feel like that? It's a little over a 1,ooo sq ft and it has been a work in progess to get it to where I think it should be. The front after painting the porch and landscaping. Now my latest idea is I want to redo my master bedroom. Like I said my house is only a little over 1,000 sq ft...so you can probably imagine how big the rooms are. Well first off and it is sooo my fault I painted the room WAY to dark!!!Now granted this is not a latest photo. The lamp is not in the corner and the bed linens have changes.
Now lucky for my master bedroom does come with a master bath...thank goodness!! Now I have to show you the before and after, because I am very very proud of this bathroom.
And the after....
Now it is not a half bath the shower is on the other side of the door on the right. But I really love it, the floors are mocha ceramic tile. So basically I love my master bath and hate the bedroom. There is only one window and the bed of course has to go right in front of it because it is the only place that fits. The trim will be going back to white and walls are going to soo much lighter. So any suggestions on what I should do??

Smothered Pork Chops

I was not a real big fan of pork chops growing up, they either had to be marinated or shaked n baked. When I first came across the recipe I wasn't quite sure I would like it, but they are so awesome the flavoring in the sauce is very good. However we did have to add a little bit more flour to thicken up the sauce just a bit and I would probably add a little more cayenne for some real spice!

My First Post

Well..I finally broke down and jumped on the blogging wagon. Please bare with me as I slowly get this started. I am your basic married twenty something girly girl. I have just come into the world of cooking at home and it is not all that bad...slowly learning I don't quite have the counter space that I need and that my husband actually likes what I cook!! With this new experience I'm hoping to learn from myself as well as my fellow foodies. I am also learning patience as I cook and hopefully developing new traditions for my future family!! By no means am I any expert, but I do know that I love wine, entertaining friends & family and great food!!

So lets get cooking.....
